The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee is proud to serve as our area’s Lead Agency for Global Youth Service Day, and we join with all of our community partners in inviting you to get involved in this international celebration of service. Global Youth Service Day is the world’s largest service event and recognizes the positive contributions young people make to their communities every day of the year. Join with others in Milwaukee and around the world who want to CELEBRATE youth in service. All projects that make a positive impact on our communities are welcome, from neighborhood cleanups to food drives to anything Milwaukee’s youth and youth-serving organizations can imagine! All young people up to age 25 - along with their families, schools, youth-serving agencies, Community Learning Centers, businesses, and community and faith-based organizations – are invited to plan and carry out service projects any time during the month of April. Each year, Youth Serve America, the global convener of the event, designates a certain weekend in April as the official Global Youth Service Day. Many events, including our signature service event and celebration, take place on that designated weekend. However, organizations are invited to plan projects for any time during the month of April. If you’d rather join a project that’s already in the works at a local community organization, you’ll find a growing list of registered projects as April approaches each year at GYSDmke.com. All service participants of all ages are invited to join in the Milwaukee Signature Service Event—visit the website to learn more. If you have an existing project planned for April, please register that project at GYSDmke.com to help showcase Milwaukee’s leadership in this global celebration of service! |
Register your Project online by April 1st each year
It’s easy—just visit GYSDmke.com to fill out a short form describing your project. Those joining existing projects need not register. Mini grants are often available for registered projects – more info on GYSDmke.com. Celebrate your Service at the GYSD Celebration event! The GYSD Celebration event has food, music, and fun activities for all ages. Anyone who participates in a service event in April is invited. More information on the celebration event each year will be available at GYSDmke.com. |
