AEG Meeting DetailsCapacity Café: New Ideas for Organizational Sustainability
Tuesday, May 19 7:30-10:00 a.m. at American Red Cross 2600 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee Join us at the next AEG meeting for Capacity Café, a unique capacity building event featuring facilitators from the Milwaukee Consultants Forum. We will be thinking and talking about sustainability, which has been our theme in 2015. Please note that this session is extended to 10:00 a.m. to accommodate a full exploration of the topic. In today's challenging environment, it is becoming harder to build and maintain sustainable organizations. For new organizations, the challenges are finding the resources needed for new ideas and building the infrastructure to keep things moving. For older, mature organizations, the challenges are often about maintaining the community's investment in what works while also being open to new ideas. Everyone needs a chance to talk about these issues and think creatively about how to address them. Our time together will help us all think through and answer some difficult questions around organizational sustainability. The model we will use is from the World Café structure, in which participants will be moving from table to table, addressing a series of escalating questions designed to address sustainability in creative ways. Milwaukees Consultants Forum facilitators will host each table and share what has been learned through a larger group discussion. The Consultants Forum is a new gathering of consultants committed to nonprofits and building their capacity. Capacity Café is modeled on a successful series of events that are held regularly in Madison by CORE.
